What is Imbolc?

Based on a Celtic tradition, Imbolc was meant to mark the halfway point between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox, celebrated on February 1st. The spiritual significance of this day and window of time is to treat your dreams like a precious little sprout. Winter is a time to move slowly, take good care of yourself, and stay open to all the ideas and creativity that comes when we rest and pause. Imbolc is the little nudge to commit to your dreams in baby steps. What dreams want to be tended to?

Join us for a special in-person event! We’re headed back to Terracotto Plants in Logan Square to celebrate the halfway point of winter! Surrounded by all the green, we’ll experience a delightfully gentle kundalini yoga & meditation, and then settle in for a sweet sound journey with crystal bowls, gong, and reiki. You’ll walk away with your battery re-charged. Beyond self care, we need more opportunities for community care - let’s move, breathe, and sing together - feeling uplifted, motivated, and hopeful for the beginning of 2023. Bring a pal and be come ready to make a new one.

Whether you have a daily meditation practice or you’ve never meditated before, come! All are welcome. Sound is so powerful. It will do all the work. All you need to do is get cozy and ready to receive.

What to Bring:

  • Mat, Blankets, and Cushions

  • Any other items that will make meditation and relaxation cozy.

  • Journal, Paper, & Pen (Optional)

After class, the store will be open exclusively for workshop participants. Enjoy a discount on your plant purchase and hear about other offerings this space and facilitators have lined up. If you also host your own wellness offerings, you are free to share as well. We want our community to have access to anything that helps them feel healthy, happy, and alive!

Cat Dughi Fritz is an energy healer and Reiki Master Teacher with over a decade of practice, and has experienced a lifelong connection to spirits, nature, and the unexplained (even before she could explain them). She has given healings and Reiki attunements across the US and as far away as Sydney, Australia. Cat enjoys nothing more than geeking out over energy work, metaphysics, and spirituality. Okay, food is a close second. IG @cat_dughi

Stephanie Lopez – manages Sat Nam Yoga Chicago (West Loop). Born and raised in Chicago’s Northwest side – Belmont Craigan, Stephanie was introduced to spiritual practices at a very young age by her mother who was an energy healer and yogi.As an adult, Stephanie’s first Kundalini Yoga class was Early Morning Sadhana (2.5 hours of chanting at 4:30am) and a cord struck inside her that had long been forgotten as a child. She is now a certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher herself, and has a deep reverence for her personal Sadhana practice and sound healing. Her intention is to spread the awareness of these spiritual tools and practices to others so that they are able to experience them for themselves. IG @laorquideavioleta
