Cozy Winter Women's Retreat

  • HEARTWORK Pictured Rocks, MI 49862 USA (map)

Hygge (pronounced Hoo-ga)

Hygge is the Danish word for the coziness you feel sipping a warm beverage in front of the fire with close friends on a cold winter’s night. There is magic in the stillness of winter and something extra special about leaning into the comforts of community.

SEASONAL SELF CARE

Robin Wall Kimmerer writes in Braiding Sweetgrass, that ceremony helps us remember to remember. When we treat this time of year as special it helps it make it so. This retreat experience is specifically designed to support you as we step into the new year with clarity, confidence, and excitement. We’ll tap into different tools of self study (word of the year, numerology, astrology, etc) to better understand how to harness your own personal brand of magic and manage your energy as you travel through the wheel of the year.

This experience was originally curated as a healing experience for healers - but artists, creatives, female entrepreneurs, and anyone who wants to expand their capacity to show up for themselves in 2023 is welcome! It has been such a giving time over the past 2+ years supporting your community in different ways, we wanted to create a space for you to recharge, replenish, reimagine and really crystalize what’s next for how you want to show up in the world with your talents. We also wanted to create for women who are tapping into their talents and intuition in new ways. Whether you are new to these modalities or seasoned practitioners, all welcome!

THE DETAILS

Join us for a 4-day Women’s Retreat in Door County, Wisconsin for a sacred seasonal pause. We'll gather in community to reset for the new year and nourish ourselves with Kundalini Yoga, Meditation, Reiki, Nature, and Community.

Attendees and hosts will stay together in a beautiful 3+ bedroom, 4 bathroom duplex-style home with fully equipped kitchen, indoor fireplace, and 97 ft deck facing Lake Superior. We’ll be just a 20-minute driving distance away from hiking trails. Scroll down to see more details about the Venue and room sections. For clarity’s sake, we’ve named the different room options after the goddess archetypes. You can book a whole room for your posse or book an individual spot.

Note: Plan to arrive between 4-6pm on Thursday, January 19th and aim to depart by 10am on Sunday, January 22nd. Upon arrival, we will have time to settle in your rooms, prepare a community meal, and open in ceremony together in the evening. On Sunday, we’ll have a Closing Circle and go out to brunch at a local restaurant before departure.

All classes and programming are optional but here’s a glimpse of the offerings for the weekend.

Our house has a fully equipped kitchen, fridge, - the works! Lunch and Snacks are on your own - and there are restaurants nearby. After you register, we’ll collect more information about dietary preferences.

Evening Ceremony - In the evenings, Cat will led us in ceremony incorporating a wide range of different modalities and tools - reiki, sound bath, cocao ceremony, tarot card readings, astrology, numerology, and more. More About Your Hosts:

Cat, Steph, and Elizabeth are yogi friends who bonded over their fascination of tarot and oracle decks. Early in their friendship, they’d gather over a shared meal and do round robin readings for each other. No matter how intimately you work with your own personal divination tools, there’s something quite powerful when another woman sees you or says something you need to hear without knowing the story of how relevant those words are. It validates your own intuition when we create space for others to channel for us.

Cat Dughi Fritz is an energy healer and Reiki Master Teacher with over a decade of practice, and has experienced a lifelong connection to spirits, nature, and the unexplained (even before she could explain them). She has given healings and Reiki attunements across the US and as far away as Sydney, Australia. Cat enjoys nothing more than geeking out over energy work, metaphysics, and spirituality. Okay, food is a close second. IG @cat_dughi

Stephanie Lopez manages Sat Nam Yoga Chicago (West Loop). Born and raised in Chicago’s Northwest side – Belmont Craigan, Stephanie was introduced to spiritual practices at a very young age by her mother who was an energy healer and yogi. As an adult, Stephanie’s first Kundalini Yoga class was Early Morning Sadhana (2.5 hours of chanting at 4:30am) and a cord struck inside her that had long been forgotten as a child. She is now a certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher herself, and has a deep reverence for her personal practice and sound healing. Her intention is to spread the awareness of these spiritual practices to others so that they are able to experience them for themselves. IG @laorquideavioleta

Elizabeth Bogart teaches Kundalini Yoga & Meditation, Khalsa Way Prenatal Yoga, a Reiki Practitioner, and newly published children's book author. She primarily works with artists, educators, and women & families preparing for labor or trying to conceive. She loves offering practices that cut through worry and self-doubt so folks can trust the timing of their life, listen to their intuition, and enjoy their creative genius. She has been called a witchy Brene Brown with Ms. Frizzle vibes and strong Mama Bear energy. She is especially curious about why and how various modalities works. Astrology, neuroscience, and quantum physics are among her favorite topics to dive into and weave into class. IG @eb_heartwork
